Starfleet orders the Enterprise to dock with the Ark 7 research station. This isn’t a normal mission though as the Romulans are also interested in Ark 7.
Kirk, Spock, McCoy and a red shirt beam over but it turns out that the station is infected with a virus which has incapacitated the Romulans as has now infected Spock. Kirk and the team must rush to make a cure so that Spock and the Romulans can be saved in order to avoid a quadrant-wide incident that might result a war.
